I act as independent investigator in workplace investigations, drawing on my strong foundation of technical and specialist investigation skills, as well as a deep commitment to conducting my investigations with empathy and integrity.

I strive to ensure my processes minimise the impact and stress on the participants of the investigation, while producing high-quality, reliable reports for organisations.

I am a member of the Association of Workplace Investigators, drawing on its professional development resources and collaboration, to ensure I use best-practice methods in this rapidly changing area of practice.  I work closely with other specialist practitioners, sharing support and expertise.  I am also a trained mediator, adding another valuable set of skills to my independent investigation practice.

I have acted for organisations and individuals in relation to a wide range of regulatory, independent and internal investigations.  Representative clients include:

  • New Zealand organisations (including Crown and statutory entities) conducting independent workplace investigations into allegations of misconduct, including bullying, discrimination and harassment.
  • A publicly listed investment firm in the United Kingdom in connection with investigations by the Financial Conduct Authority, the Serious Fraud Office and anticipated civil litigation, as well as an internal investigation in relation to leaks of confidential information.
  • An individual facing criminal charges brought by the New Zealand Financial Markets Authority in relation to a failed finance company.
  • Individuals in connection with investigations by United Kingdom and United States regulatory authorities into alleged collusion and manipulation of LIBOR.
  • Individuals in connection with investigations by United Kingdom and United States regulatory authorities involving fraud, money laundering, bribery and sanction issues.
